Memorial Day extraordinaire!
If you're enjoying your weekend, thank a fallen soldier. That bistro sign sobered and (sort of) cheered me right up! On the other hand, my favorite veteran says it's no big deal--by the way, of course we also owe the surviving soldiers a debt of gratitude--saying "We signed up knowing we could be killed. We were just doing our job and don't deserve any more credit than others who do their jobs!" Thank God also for the humility of those who have served and|or are serving! Beyond them, I'm most grateful to the Fallen Soldier who died for me personally, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and still pleads with God on my, and your, behalf in heaven. "This do in remembrance of me" (1 Corinthians 11:24), indeed. Patriotism yes, nationalism no!
