None of us is immune from do-gooding. Not that such is necessarily bad but, taken too far, we know the end result: moralism and self-righteousness. Jesus often got himself into trouble for breaking the rules--his own rules. Not that he was immoral. Instead, his ultimate rule was "relationships over rules": "Love is the fulfillment of the law" (Romans 13:10). Now's that's life!
