On wounded knees

Why hasn't anyone told me about this book? Perhaps the best ever written on the structure, nature, and extent of the church, its balance and parlance is stupefying. It rings true on so many levels and, as a plus, has a story format. Not church-bashers for church-bashing sake, the authors instead posit personal relationship with God as ultimate, empowering us to understand and withstand whatever mud churchgoers and others may throw. It also deals well with the prosperity and just desserts gospel(s). Perhaps its best advice is not to let the church "should"(!) on us, all the while challenging us in the faith journey and inspiring us to move beyond any church-woundedness. I repeat: why hasn't anyone told me about this book?
